| This was the
first meeting between the Knights and Romford for two seasons, but with
the knights having five players out due to injury/illness the game could
go either way.
The first period opened quickly with a good solo effort from Ali Ross with just 11 seconds on the clock, and then another from Roman Svoma just 3 minutes later, to put the knights 2-0 up. Romford pulled one back midway through the period but the Knights netted twice more to go into the second 4-1. The second period started normally but a series of dubious decisions from the referee, and penalty time keeping errors from off ice officials made it hard work for the Knights as they played most of the period short-handed, this led to Romford scoring twice and the knights only once. Leaving the score at the end of the period 5-3 to the Knights. The third saw the Knights re-group and despite loosing another defenceman, Ian Alston to a twisted knee came out with all guns blazing with goals from Martin Rider, Simon Rawlins and Roman Svoma. This final onslaught was too much for the Romford team who put just one passed the knights netminder Hass Baig in the third for a resounding 9-4 win on the road for the Knights.
