| The
return leg at Streatham saw the Knights with only 8 players and a
netminder, score first through a goal from Neil
Ratcliffe. The game was to
be much slower than the week before, as the Knights sought to pace
themselves with a short bench. The period ended Knights 1 – 2 Chiefs
with strong defensive play from the keeping the Chiefs at bay.
However the pace of the Streatham forwards was sometimes too much and slowly they opened up a lead. The Knights continued to play conservatively but were caught twice short handed, as the Chiefs stretched their lead. Although having several good chances the Knights could not capitalise, as the chiefs rolled out their three lines of players, wearing down the Knights throughout the second. The third continued at an even pace with chances for both teams with the Chiefs coming off better, as the tiring but still battling Knights were loosing momentum. The score could have easily been higher if is was not for the determined consistent play of the Knights netminder Hass Baig, and the players in front of him, a courageous effort by all.
