| The
Titians started quickly by first getting a roughing penalty at 0.46
seconds and then scoring on the Knights shorthanded. The Knights soon
replied 1.44 later with a goal by Neil Ratcliffe on the same powerplay.
The Knights were holding the Titans
goal for goal, with Chris Shaw scoring twice, until the last few minutes
of the first period, when a flurry of goals were allowed unanswered. The
period ended 6 - 3 to the Titans as the Knights were unable to capitalise
on the Titans playing half the period
shorthanded.
The second was much of the same as the Knights conceded 4 goals with only one I return, scored by Simon Rawlins, assisted by Tony Wood and Neil Ratcliffe. With the Titans again heavily penalised the Knights could not take advantage as their powerplay was not as effective as they would have liked. The game on Saturday for the Titans would seam not have slowed them down as again, despite a good all round effort from the Knights they stretched their lead further. Finally on a powerplay for highsticking, the Knights scored their 6 goal of the evening, through John Jeffery. One of the best offensive results for the Knights all season, against the strongest team in the Cup this year.
