Match Report

Knights Bomb B52’s out of town.

Tonight we welcome the Bracknell B52’s to their first ever visit to the Ice Bowl.

This is the first time that both teams had met and there was an air of anticipation when the puck was dropped…….

The first goal was scored quickly when the B52’s forward shot the puck in the first 3 minutes finding the net, another followed at 7.28. The Knights needed to recover & quickly. With the B52’s goalie being pressured with 26 shots, it wasn’t long before the Neil, Paul & Spence trio produced the Knights 1st goal which was quickly followed by another from Tim & Ben tied up the 1st period to 2 apiece

The 2nd period saw a very disciplined game where the play flowed end to end & the Knights picked up a further 3 goals from Neil (2) & Spence (1) with assists going to Paul Hume & Bob Jacobs. A further 22 shots rained down on the B52’s goalie in the period.

The 3rd brought more goals for the Knights with their offensive game dominating the period. Another 21 shots on target earned goals for Neil (2), Paul Hume & Mark Graham with assists going to the usual suspects including defenceman Bob Jacobs (3) & Darren Chapman (1). Knights goalie, Steve Grout ensured that the B52’s were unable to find the net for two periods in succession.

All in all a very disciplined game that brought no penalties & lots of goals. Special thanks go out to ex-player & now Invicta Dynamos forward Martin Rider for stepping in & refereeing the game.
