Match Report

The Knights inflicted a crushing defeat against the Chelmsford Chargers to continue their unbeaten start to this season’s campaign.  The Chargers, who were larger in stature, were no match against the superior skating & passing skills of the Knights.

 The scoring quickly commenced when Richie Myers made an open ice pass to Paul Hume who shot the puck past the Chargers Goalie.  Further goals came also from Petr Popluhar, Neil Ratcliffe & “Birthday Boy” Chris Spencer.  The Chargers, who were unable to reply left the 1st ending in a 5 – 0 result to the Knights.

The 2nd period saw more ice-time go to the third liners, where discipline & skill showed through as they all stepped up to the mark to ensure that the Chargers were unable to find the net.  The only Knights goal went to the Neil Ratcliffe & Paul Hume duo who are enjoying continued success in their new partnership on the 1st line. 

The third period saw the Chargers first goal after a freak puck headed into the net.  A further goal at 55.00 was too little too late for the Chargers as the Knights scored a further 6 goals.  A slight change in the lines saw Man of the Match, Bob Jacobs take 4 points from 4 goals.  Other scorers were, Petr Popluhar, Cody McBride, Neil Ratcliffe & Chris Spencer.  Assists were given throughout the team included the defence where shots rained down on the Charger’s Goalie from all angles.
