Match Report
The New Year brought a new
team to the Ice Bowl in the form of the Bristol
Warriors. The Knights had actually met the Warriors for
the first time at the Annual Sheffield 2006 Tournament
where the score ended in a 1-1 tie.
As no officials were available to referee the game it was up to me to raid the loft & find my kit to step in at the last minute……..A quick chat with both Team Coaches & Captains left me in no doubt that this was going to be a good, clean, checking game as both teams were hungry for a victory. The puck was dropped for the first face off and it was plain to see by the fast end to end play that a goal was on the horizon. The Warriors found the net first but it was equalized in minutes. A pass from Neil up to Sami who in turn passed the puck to Spence, who then fired the puck into the net. It Was Petr who found the net next, with assists going to both Sami and Spence. With a 1 goal lead going into the 2nd period, things were still going at a fast pace…….. The 2nd period saw more fast play from both teams. Goals came from Neil, the assist going to Sami a goal for Tom Wade with Chris Shardlow assisting and a further goal from Petr, assists to both Sami and Neil. The Warriors continued to shoot on Andrejs, but the talented goalie stopped all the shots……. With all still to play for, both teams started out hard and fast in the 3rd period……with Tom Wade finding the net, assists to both Mark & Loyde Fuller. Spence found the goal next with assists to Petr & Murray. The Warriors returned fire at the end of the game to score a final goal before the buzzer sounded to end the game.Reporter : Sue Webber |
