Match Report

The first game of the season was away in Bracknell to the B52’s and having a few players unavailable we travelled with 2 and a bit lines, a “Short Bench” commenced with the Season’s opening game………

The first period saw plenty of shots on the Bracknell goalie with the first goal coming from the Sami at 3.20 assisted by Joel. A further goal at 8.39 this time Joel scored assisted by Pete Murtola. The first period was wrapped up with a goal by Loyde assisted by Joel at 19:08. Andrejs stood firm in the Knights net when Bracknell breached the Knights make shift defence.

The second Period started fast with Joel popping up with another assisted by Loyde , 2 goals quickly followed at 22:58 Pots from Spence from Loyde and then Joel completed his hat trick at 24:10 assisted by Loyde. This was to be the last goal of the game for the Knights as Bracknell piled on the pressure and the Knights tired with the heat and heavy legs. Bracknell got off the mark at 31:03 with an unassisted goal from Ian Sham brook , followed by a goal at 42:32 from Andy Downs assisted by Adrian Wybratt and Mark Gibson . Bracknell then wrapped up the scoring for the second period at 48:56 with a goal from Aaron Barringer assisted by Neil Porter. The Knights despite a few chances and a 5 on 3 were just unable to get the puck in the net due to some good saves and missed opportunities.

The third Period started much the same as the end of the second for the Knights as they once again could not find the way to the back of the net as the team tired and legs became heavy. Andrejes came up with some big saves to keep the score in the Knights favour , but was beaten for the final time at 55:09 by Steve Brown assisted by Jason Draper, this wrapped up the scoring for the game.

All in all a good run out and result for the first game of the season and should make for an interest rematch on the 17th November at the Bowl
The team now look ahead to the Trip to Milton Keynes on the 12th October
